Help with my bell peppers
« on: May 06, 2018, 18:39 »
Hi all just been down the allotment and my bell peppers are starting to flower but I’m not sure what size the plant should be and if it’s flowering to early the plant is about 12” high and is currently in a 5” pot with the roots only just starting to show through the bottom is the flowering, hight etc normal
Thanks all

Probably a reaction to the recent hike in temperatures, but not really a problem.  Peppers flower over a long season and will keep growing as they do so.  Pot it on carefully, feed it (I use tomato food once they start flowering and fruiting) and pick the peppers regularly if you want it to keep producing  :)

Ask any 2 gardeners and get 2 different answers
Mine always seem to stop growing if they flower and fruit this early, so I always pinch flowers off until the plants are a bit bigger.
