Quite right about disturbing them. I accidently left the door of the henhouse open during the day and they all went and laid in the rabbit hutch and that's how it's been since then! I don't think they will ever forgive me. Patience, food ad lib and loads of greens. Nic.

RE feed container. You could try a 1 or 2 litre milk carton the ones with the handles on. If you cut the top off at an angle so that the handle is left on it can be fastened/tied to an appropriate place in the run/coop. Just a thought.

Thanks to all for your help, before I managed to try any of them the white one laid a reasonable size egg yesterday! They both now a lot less jumpy than before and will let us pick them up. Most happy!
