if you use lice powder on a regular basis will this stop red mite ? think in getting a bit paranoid not had them yet but am always checking now  :wacko:

As well as dusting with diatomaceous earth I like to (very carefully) use a blowtorch on the perches, corners and cracks in any woodwork which gets a lot of them but I also use a tip that someone, I forget whom, gave on this forum, which is to smother the ends and joints of perches with petroleum jelly which stops them from crawling along the perch to get to the birds.
