Good afternoon everyone.  after filling up my large compost bin with chopped sweetcorn stems and runner bean vines (also chopped because I found the vines did not compost so well whole), my thoughts turned to compost makers.

Does anyone use these products regularly and can shed any light on the subject?

Hello I in use to use garotta in compost bins at a garden I worked in,the compost was built up in 6 inch  layers in a 6× 4  post and wire net cage then garotta added at every layer 4 ounce to a layer  a few comfrey leaves and nettle tops went in then covered on a friday night with black polythene and a carpet  ,the pile would be to the top of the bin by the following Tuesday the pile had dropped to 4 foot high and was about 80 degrees ,then it was left a month turned out into another bin more garotta at 2 oz to a layer was added and a fee tiger worms,thr next pile was started 3 months later a final turn into a foot × 4foot bin covered up and left for 2 months,then the leaf mold pile was started  using garotta,I use to make 3 1/2 tons of compost and 2 1/2tons of leaf mold that was used for potting Azaleas and rhododendron in a plunge shed for winter    jwzza

As I said, the compost bin is full, so I'm thinking of making a watery solution of Vitax or Garotta so it gets down to all levels of vegetable matter.   Your comments please.
