is it ok to eat plums that have had grubs in them?

assuming I remove grub, cut out nasty bits and wash them, is it ok to eat plums that have housed these little friends? I would cook with them- jams, chutneys, etc :unsure:
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

Like DD - its not done me any harm.  Given that you cant do a blind scientific nuetral trial with another me to be sure I suppose .....   :unsure:   maybe I would be sensible and sane and like Big Brother and drum'n'bass if I hadnt eaten plums with bits cut out and/or  pots with the green bits cut off and ........    :blink: :blink:
