Goats again
« on: April 20, 2013, 11:04 »
Well I got my goat in January and she has had twin boys... that was a good experience and now milking her.The milk is great doesn't taste goaty as some people say including my mother-in-law, as long as you cool it quick that's the secret.  So got my own duck and hen eggs and milk.  Time to start a veg patch and the allotment I'm going to share will mainly be full of hundreds of sunflowers for animal feed.

Forgive my ignorance, but how long will the nanny be "in milk"?  I'm presuming she isn't all the time...

Any nice pics of the goats? I'm a sucker (sorry, no pun intended after the first comment!!) for small critturs like sheep and goats.  I think I'd better shut up now, before I say something silly   ;)

Thanks Carl.  She's very pretty and her kids are gorgeous!

Goats milk is an acquired taste, but we like it and it's supposed to be good for skin - afterall, Cleopatra bathed in it (allegedly)  :)

I like goats milk, especially goats cheese. I'd like to have a go at making my own feta cheese!  :D
