Title: Pullets: irregular laying
Post by: chickendance on August 20, 2008, 16:19
Hello, I am new to chcken keeping and could do with some advice. I have got three hybrid pullets, about 25 weeks old. Two started laying about a week ago. The first one to start laying gave us an egg every day for a week, then yesterday I saw her in her box, and heard her coem out making the usual "I've done an egg" noise, but there was no egg. And she didn't lay one today either. Is this sort of thing normal, or might she have a problem? Is it usual to see irregular patterns of laying when they are young? Do they sometimes think they'd laid an egg, even when they haven't? :? Thank you!
