Advice - looking after chicks
« on: March 21, 2011, 13:50 »
Hi
I need advice on all aspects of looking after chicks.  :)
I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch  ::) but IF my broody hen does hatch any eggs what do I need to do.
At the moment she is in a stable in a homemade cage with a dog carrier as a nestbox. I will need to board up the edges as a chick could escape from it.
I will need a small crumb and water feeder, what else?
Should they stay in this cage for a few weeks or what?
When can they go outside?
When can you mix them with the big birds?
Anything else I need to know or do?
Thanks  :)
