Title: Egg candling

Hi
This might sound silly :wacko: but ive got a new brinsea incubtor which has auto turn on it i was just wondering when you take the egg out to candle it what way do you put it back in if it turns thanks luke :unsure:

when you put the eggs in the incy you could mark them all with a X and a O on opposite sides, then you will know which way to replace them  :)

If its a swinging cradle you should set your eggs broad side up and replace them in this orientation too.

With auto turners there's no need to mark the egg at all.  The purpose of turning an egg is so it doesn't sit constantly with the fluid level at one point and so the insides of the shell get moistened periodically.  Taking an egg out to candle will achieve this anyway.

The only reason to mark an egg is when hand turning so you know you have actually turned it each time.  Candling is something you do two or at most three times in 21 days so won't effect the results with an auto turner.
