Turnips still possible now?
« on: September 14, 2017, 15:23 »
Hello.

What do you think my chances are, realistically, of a worthwhile crop of turnips - even small ones - from a sowing this late? I have 'Golden Ball' and 'Purple Top Milan' seed that I could try.

Thanks

I would say pretty remote now. We're getting a lot of autumnal signs now, trees changing colour, background temperature is falling away rapidly now.

I sowed some Purple Top Milan in modules just over a week ago and expect to get some usable, small turnips. They will probably be used whole. The worst that can happen is that you waste a few seeds.
