Only connection I can think of is that Lidl is a German company, and Beethoven, who was also German, wrote "Furry Lees" if I remember correctly, although I can't find any references to furry German radishes as such.

QED?   ;)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I would need half a gallon !
A bit too fierce for me but my next door neighbour loved them !
They are not all hot, some are just moderate.

The variety is "Ostergruss Rosa 2" and looks more like a pink carrot than a radish!

Gurgling suggests they are otherwise known as "German salad radish" which probably explains the link to beer drinking, although I have to confess the idea of sitting in the garden munching long pink radishes and washing them down with pints of lager doesn't sound that appealing to me.   ;)

Can't find any reference to them being unusually hot, although it could depend on how quickly they are grown I suppose - will sow very soon as they are a cool weather crop, so shouldn't have to wait long to find out.
