can i put these in compost bin ?

Hi,can anyone please tell me if i can put strawberry plants(chopped up) into compost bin ? ..also what about straw?

Yes to both unless plants are diseased - even then your heap will kill disease if it gets hot enough.

go by the maxim ,if its green and soft compost it just make sure the heap gets real warm by covering it with a bit tarp or old carpet .... they dont get hot if it rains on them

Cabbage and cauli stalks can be a bit woody so just bash and chop em with your spade,then bosh em on the compost they will be fine.

BUT mind your toes.
