First pressing.

Had an apple pressing session today, five gallons produced,S.G. 1.046 which I don't think is to bad, if we have a nice summer S.G.'s usually 1.050 to 1.052, should finish about 6% ::)

So pleased with your result Tony, that is certainly a good brew and no mistake!

We're just finishing the alcotec brew (see previous posts) with apple juice at around 0.997, and which I think I'll stop the process and let it drop out now, as the bubbling is every five minutes or so.

What I want to know, is, should I add the charcoal finings as they suggest, or not? I made the whole five gals with pure apple juice (Twongos), and sugar, and it looked odd at first, but settled down to a great bubbly fermentation, with a little help from a nearby heater...

Intriguing quandary at the moment, but I reckon that if it tastes OK, then why worry?
