Cabbage for storing

Can anyone recommend the best Cabbages to grow to store in a Root Cellar.

You need a ball type of cabbage rather than a looser leaf type like a spring cabbage. Savoys are very hardy in the ground although most ball types stand well anyway.

My knowledge of root cellar storage is limited, but I do know that my red cabbage stores amazingly well every winter in a loosely covered box in the dark.
