I can remember as a child seeing tiny little red spider type things running about on our outside brick window ledges.I used to spend ages squidging them and leaving little red dots all over the place! :tongue2: I still see these things sometimes in the soil at the allotment. Do you think that these are sometimes mistaken for red spider mite, or are they red spider mite?

There are two different things.
Red Spider Mite (what you have seen as a child)
&
Spider Mite (bird related) They do not like light so you would not have seen them unless you disturbed something.
