odd eggs
« on: February 02, 2010, 15:57 »
One of ladies has been laying odd shaped eggs  we've had half a dozen or so now, and although I'm sure she is fine, I just wanted someone to check and reassure me 'cos they do look quite strange.

This is normal and happens from time to time and is due to and abnormal laying down of the shell when forming. Does not change what is inside the egg which is the important bit! As long as the feeding is stable and not feeding too many treats this should return to normal over a pariod of time.

One of my hens lays bumpy eggs now and again . The most stress she gets is if i`m 10 mins late with her supper.

We get the odd egg that is very wrinkly, they are normally very large eggs too.
