Mine are doing quite well and I'll soon put them in the unheated greenhouse, then hopefully the plot in 10 days to two weeks.

It's all very well bring the plants on with heat, but that can lead to weak plants that won't tolerate the outside conditions very well.

Planted mine out today in a big mound of compost & manure.

I have a problem with bees well not a problem because they don't bother me...i planted the Atlantic giant the other day and when i dug the hole there was a few bees buzzing round 
The thing i wan't to know .... they are making there nest under the pumpkin...will this bother the pumpkin  ?

mine are growing realy fast and needed to be planted out as they where out-growing their 4 inch pots - so they went in yesterday - only problem is that i havent got much space left a the plot, so they where planted fairy close together

Mine were planted out today, slightly earlier than normal but they were out growing their pots. Hope the slight drop in temperature over weekend won't affect them but homemade cloches are already prepared...

Please add me to this challenge.  I am trying to grow pumpkins for the first time ever as my children are keen to have their own halloween lanterns!

I have already started a few off and the hundredweights look good so I'm feeling confident

It will probably be ok, but it might be a problem if they expose the roots.
You can help the situation by covering every leaf joint with soil, because the plant will then form extra roots (like a cutting) and make up for losses.

well as you lot know i put my pumpkins in last week - had a walk around the plot this mornin only to find that 2 out of the 3 plants have been eaten straight through the main stem  - i dont know how the slugs have managed it as they have been surrounded by pellets - its a good job ive got a few more plants on the go as back-ups
