Hi, I know Horse poop is good for growing, what is it better used for and does it need any preparation before using, my husband says it burns when fresh, thanks

Your husband is correct madam.  It's best to leave it until the odour has gone (about a year).
I have no doupt that others will disagree!

Cheers,   Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

You can speed the rotting process up a bit by turning the outsides of the heap in to the middle frequently or now & again depending on your energy.

I've been using horse poop for several years now as said its best left for twelve months before using and since using its made our ground much better to cultivate using horse poop because we where having problems with soil capping prior to putting horse poop on both allotments
