I made them out of gravel board.  Not free, but cheap enough. 

If you have problems that mean that digging is difficult or have time issues they are great.  They also help to improve drainage on heavy clay soils like mine.

Its not so much drainage or time issues,and I quite enjoy forking over, really it just looks easier to do everything - sow,plant, net and we have a big garden and quite a lot of concrete closer to the house so they would look nice there as well hopefully.

Can I just ask, have you ever posted a thread about them before I joined or that I didn't see them ? I would like some more details about them but if you haven't don't worry.
