Heatless chilies? Not any more!!!
« on: November 21, 2008, 22:05 »
They've gone thermonuclear.  I remember a lot of people moaning that their chilies had no heat and I was one of them.  However, someone said you had to treat them mean so I kept them really dry and now they are red they are so hot I still can't feel my tongue.  Hot chili pork on the menu tonight.
Cheese makes everything better.

Good for you? (I think!)

(but hows them carrots? still being naughty?)

I've tried drying some of mine in the oven on the lowest setting, it said to prop the door open. It hasn't worked.  I tried to finish them off on some kitchen paper on the lounge mantle but some are just soggy     Got loads of chillies too, so might have to freeze them. Or I could ask for a drier for Christmas  :D

It takes 5 or 6 hours to dry them in the oven, would worry about propping
the door open though if you have a fan assisted oven.

They do like to be stressed to enhance the heat. Just like they tend to be in there natural habitat.

I've never tried to dry them before but I'll be giving it ago.  Might just hang them up near a radiator and see what happens.
