salad leaves

A popular crop nowadays, but before you take your scissors to cut those leaves, just be aware, that many weeds will germinate and grow amongst them, now while most weeds are harmless and probably edible, the odd one could cause health problems, sprouting merrily among my patch ,are poppy plants, not very palatible, just take the time to ensure your harvesting the salad leaves you planted, and nothing else

Most weeds are edible I eat lots, I have identified most and checked on pfaf site gr elder, chick, weed nettles dead nettles,  speedwell, bitter cress. Just let them grow slightly bigger and pick the leaves indivdually.

What I do watch when planting  orcutting chives watch for bulbs going over a friend of mine got taken to hospital with tulip poisening.
