Title: Incubator set and running
Post by: gsc on June 02, 2010, 05:14
Thanks to all for their advice.

My RCom 20 Pro USB is now set-up and running as of teatime yesterday.  We checked the temp and humidity and it is remarkably accurate.  The laptop restarted overnight after a windows update but the incubator carried on and recording picked up when I loaded the prog again this morning.

Against all advice I have it in the bedroom - it plays a little tune every hour as it turns the eggs and the air-flow is a little noisy for sleeping but I soon got used to it - went to bed with ear plugs in just in case.

So now I am packed and having a coffee at 5am - off to the airport for 2 weeks in Luxor with my sister.  Will be online everyday with my laptop so you won't miss me  ::) (How sad is that!!! but I am so excited about this I'm almost not wanting to go )

Hubby, friend and brother all have their instructions for checking and brother Cliff has insisted I have everything ready in case they hatch before I get back in 2 weeks - ha ha ha.  In fact he is threatening to set up a video link so I can watch the incubator from Luxor :tongue2:

Well my local lady said she couln't guarantee everything was fertile so not really sure what to expect.

Dithering about whether to ask my brother to candle them for me or just to leave them and hope for the best.
