What an awful month February has been in Britain. Talk about February Fill Dyke! The rain has hardly seemed to stop and the storms and gales have just seemed to keep on coming with hardly a break. What's to be done?

basically John nothing we have I'm afraid we have to bite or tongue and sit this weather it out however depressing it is to be grounded indoors I'm the same as others fed up with the weather you tend to start something outside and it looks black over Bill's mother and then down it comes leaving us to clear up all the tools and run indoors swearing and cussing
we decided to go to town yesterday on the bus to break the day up and after waiting at the bus stop for some fifteen minuets as the bus was late we decided to go back home as we where wet and cold and so spent the afternoon putting logs on the fire

I didn't know people outside the Potteries used that expression! May 'un mar lady is the only people who say that round here :)

if my memory serves me rite John many years ago a DJ or a radio presenter on the BBC radio not sure if it was radio 2 then was Ray Moor he used to say it looks black over Bills mother's when it was going to rain and although Ray passed away some years ago I never forgot Ray saying that there you go another piece of useless information John :D :D

We had a hell of a lot of rain over November and December then it stopped but for the odd shower... February has seen it return in spades. I lost all of my winter brassicas due to waterlogged ground. Garden is like a swimming pool at the moment :lol:

I may be totally off the mark here, but wasn't there a discussion on here ages ago and someone said it was Kaiser Bill :unsure: I can't remember why, but I guess weather blowing in from the east is generally bad news, so it just got associated with storms and the like ???
