whats the board made from.  Laminate front on top of???

usually fibre/chip board.  If so they will soak up water like a sponge, expand and then crumble in the sunshine.

You could always use it a flooring in your shed.  Proper posh shed that would be!

ive tried a similar thing, the paint tends not to stick because of the shiny surface of the laminate

im not thinking of painting the laminate side    :)
painting sum sort of wood preservative/ waterproofing on the wood side
so the water isnt absorbed
is there such a thing ?
i think i'll try using them
as a test
i doubt they will last long
but will help me shape the beds
and i can replace em with gravel boards etc
cheers tho'

I've made a few beds with laminate.

I originally expected it to just last a season but this is now going into the third season :)

Might be bathroom grade though ::)

Have also lined pallet crates with it for higher raised boxes.

The boxes are pallet crates, sawn in half, with laminate to block the holes.

There is also laminate just nailed to 2"X1" (leave the 2"X1" six inches longer and push into the ground)
Hope this makes some sense.

They are pallet crates sawn down the middle to make two boxes.

Its mostly softwood but now and again we get some hardwood crates.

Get these from a tile warehouse, they mostly carry marble tiles/slabs.
