Last grass cutting
« on: October 22, 2021, 17:29 »
Husband had just given the grass its last cut for 2021, he thought he'd done it a couple of weeks back but it carried on growing.

What's the latest you've done your last cut?  Some years back we did ours in November.

Did our lawn yesterday, and have just cleaned the mower, while it is still slightly damp, and folded it away for the winter.

Doing this just now ensures that I'll have to do the whole lot again in a couple of weeks...

I did mine last week, and cleaned off mower.  I am sure it is still growing though.   Mrs Bouquet

I think it does better during the winter when it is slightly longer, Mrs B.

My old mower used to shave the stuff, but this one seems to make a better fist of it, while not bashing the grass about too much, so I may well just get an 'angora' look going and see what happens!

Different conditions for me, so I expect to cut grass throughout the winter. The pace will slow to once or twice a month, even less if it goes cold enough to snow.

I decided to get the scarifier on the lawn this last week.   (October list of garden jobs).   Given that I do it twice a year, I was amazed at how much stuff came out of it.    I think I may have to mow it again.  Mrs B

Cut the front garden again on December 5.

At our place, I think St. Nick may be pushing a Cub Cadet mower this Christmas instead of driving a sleigh!
