Sad Busy Lizzies
« on: May 22, 2021, 16:49 »
Just been down the g/c and saw these 6 girls in a tray for £1.  I couldn't leave them.   They are quite small, and have many tiny buds, but few leaves, most have gone yellow and falling off.   They are absolutely
soaking wet, I suspect they maybe drowning .  I have had a nice chat with them, and put them in the greenhouse to dry out a bit.  Have you any more ideas what to do with them please. Can I plant them out in a container tomorrow do you think, or leave them a while.   Thanks,  Mrs Bouquet

I'd just leave them alone for now, but I'd pick off the flowers, otherwise they might decide to spend energy on flowering, rather than on growing better.
Good luck!

I have been in the greenhouse and picked the flowers of the plants.  There weren't many.  There were lots and lots of tiny buds about the size of  a grape pip.  I have removed a lot of those, as many as I could.  Thanks for your advice, they have got two chances now. :D  Mrs B

They are not sad anymore.   They have come out of the sick-bay, and into their new container home, and are doing well.  This warm weather should help as well.  Thanks for your help,  Mrs B

They have quite "sappy" stems like my begonia plug plants which I potted on then got them soaking wet so a lot of the first leaves fell off. Now they're doing a lot better since I put them in the greenhouse for a couple of weeks or so to dry out.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
