'Evening All,

I'm sorry to say that I had to have the last two of my girls put to sleep last night.  They had both had 'lash' last year and hadn't laid since.
 
Honey  had gone right down hill since the weekend.  I know that I couldn't have left Tilly on her own as  she was always distrought if Honey was out of sight.

My question this evening is, how do I deep clean the earth aviary floor?  The soil is very light not compacted. The girls free ranged all day and I  poo picked every morning.  But Honey had awful smelly, really wet  poos for three or four days and it really wasn't possible to clean as well as I would have liked.

Our new girls arrive on Saturday morning.

I have been advised to water the floor with Milton or Jeyes fluid, if I do, should I wash this solution off with the hosepipe after 24hrs?  I'm worrying about burning the new girls feet and what would happen if they swallowed some of the 'chemically' soil ?

try using stalosan f, which is a dry powder bacterial disinfectant which can be sprinkled down or vikron s which is a liquid bacterial disinfectant, both are for use with chickens and will have no side effects for them
