Title: This is my Lancelot
Post by: Honeysuckle on May 29, 2011, 12:59
I know he's a crossbreed, any suggestions as to what the cross maybe?  He's a lovely fella whatever he is!  :D :D

Wow, impressive!

I just read your Feb posting about your Jersey Giant - did you ever find another one? I bought a pair today at a local poultry auction & have been reading up about them. Someone obviously didn't read the bit to my cockerel about them being placid...

No unfortunately we didn't get another Jersey Giant, we see Lancelot on our search for another cockerel and fell in love with him  ::) He's a lovely, gentle bird and really looks after his ladies.   :nowink:

A VERY fine specimen. Lucky chooks. They could make beautiful babies together!!

Catsmuvva - we only had the one JG.  We took it slowly with him and he was fine with me, he did however charge at my OH when he picked up one of the hens

Hopefully we'll find out shortly if Lancelot produces lovely babies; we have a hen sitting on 4 eggs! Day 21 is Wednesday.......  :tongue2:  :tongue2:
