Potato lifter

:D Hi. I have just got a potato lifter, and it's a must for all mechanised gardeners. Before I had it I could lift about a bag a night. Last night I lifted 3 bags in under 2 hours and with no digging!!!   . Its just a banker with fingers. I made mine in an afternoon.

and an objective.

Well you lost me - a banker with fingers? Some sort of rhyming slang :)
Any chance of a picture? Or maybe it will make sense to me in the morning!

Hi John.

Great web page. I will put up a picture in next few days. But the device realy is simple. I think similar devices were used behind horses to lift potato's.

You are talking to a man who needs a Haynes manual to put oil in the car and then asks where the engine is located!

Click on "album" in the top left corner and then allotment pics or whatever and then "upload pics" the sizes etc are there. If you haven't got any picture-handling software, Irfan View is good and free (just google for it).
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Moir you need big diameter wheels for the lifter. I have never seen a atom so dont know much about them. 3hp should be plenty just put some weights on to get traction.
