Chitting potatos and heat
« on: March 15, 2017, 12:22 »
Hi all,

I have my potatos in trays chitting in the greenhouse under 4 layers of folded fleece, my concern is that they are going to get too hot and wonder if this will affect them?

It's probably 30c in there at the moment as it's blue skys and full sun here at the moment, so would i be best moving them to the shed in front of the shed window or do you think they will be ok where they are?

Thanks in advance

Andy

I think the shed window would be a much better bet.  That's where mine are  :)

It has the added bonus that I can keep an eye on them every time I fill up the chicken's water bowls .. and coo over them, but that's another story.  I'm just a bit sad that way

Yup, shed window is better. They'll get a bit too cosy in that greenhouse!

The potatoes

I'm too busy telling the chickens off for tripping me up, digging huge holes in the run for me to fall into and demanding food with menaces to coo over them  :nowink:
