Hi,

I have six Shirley F1 toms growing in my Greenhouse and the flowers are now just setting tiny toms on them, when  do I start to feed them with the Tomorite? Also many times a week should I feed them?

We also have three Capsicum plants doing nicely in the same GH but the do not yet have flowers on them, when do I start feeding them and again how often.

once you see tiny toms on your plants start to feed as recomended,

we water once a week and feed once aweek to start

now that we have lots of lovely trusses full of toms we water twice a week , usually  MONDAY and SATURDAY  we liquid feed every WEDNESDAY about 1/2 gallon  to each plant ,

When I had my Toms in 11" pots I watered three times a day in the heat of Summer ... now they are in the border soil I can get away with every-other-day.

I feed once a week.

This year I have downgraded from Tomorite to a proprietary Tomato feed that is a less well known brand, and thus about half the price!

I should have added that I water mine every day - about a litre and a bit per plant.

This year they're also being fed each day at a reduced rate (comparable over seven days to a good weekly feed) on the basis that I suspect a 'little and often' approach has to be better than a glut and then nothing for six days.

mind you its a liquid feed ,

done it this way for 5 yrs , no probs ,
