Sweetcorn
« on: June 11, 2009, 21:10 »
I planted out my sweetcorn plants a couple of weeks ago and they are looking fine.  I sowed them in toilet rolls, one seed per roll, but have now noticed a couple of plants seem to have developed a double stem as if two seeds have grown.  Is this normal and will it be detrimental to the crop??

This could well be a side shoot called a "tiller" and is quite normal.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
