One of my newly hatched chicks seems to have a problem with its feet , it is having problems "stretching" the toe's and is walking with the toes curled....any ideas????????????

Hi Monarch
Never encountered this myself but have had a quick look in my K Thear book.
She suggests that young with curly toes is due to lack of Vit B2 (riboflavin) in the parents :?
Only thing I could suggest would if you are able to position the feet correctly use match sticks or the like to act as a splint :?
Sarah :)

I think there has been advice about this on here before - [probably from Munty.
I'll do a search.

Also have a look at this link, it could be slipped tendon from kicking out of the shell. There is a infant's liquid vit. here called Poly-Vi-Sol that can be give chicks at the rate of two drops daily and it helps with defeciencys. But be sure sure to get a vit. that has either no iron or very little.
Here is the link.

I like the Multi-vit-plus. It sounds like it should do the trick. It would be nice if we had choices like that here. The Vitamin packs are few and far between.

I think they sell abroad but I guess the shipping would be a lot to USA :(

And slow too once it clears customs and all the other stuff it has to go through.
