Petrol Strimmer
« on: October 24, 2012, 12:22 »
Hi Guys,

I'm looking to buy a fairly cheap-ish petrol strimmer for the plot.

Can anyone make any suggestions?

Thanks

Jim

Wow, looking at the Mitox range - you can get the 42.7cc version for about £220.  That's pretty cheap for such a powerful strimmer (Kawasaki/Makita's are around 300)  Does anyone know if parts are readily available (and fairly priced) for these?  Low cost is important but you don't want to spend a lot of money on disposible tools.
Add me on PSN but nowadays I reach for the fork or hoe more than a controller

Mitox parts are readily available from the importer. Most independent garden machinery retailers should be able to help you out.

Looks ok, but what MAKE is it? who is the importer, and do they keep the parts in stock?

From the eBay seller's page LTS = Local Tool Sales (yes it is all in capitals):

LOCAL TOOL SALES

Tells me nowt ???
Except that the seller doesn't specialise in strimmers and other garden machinery and hints at the fact they might import machines but they won't be heavy on the spares front.
China is a major manufacturer, that much is a fact......
