Substituting vinegar types

Can I substitute white pickling vinegar for white distilled malt vinegar in beetroot chutney?  It's just I would like to make some tonight and don't fancy the supermarket.  If it helps the recipe calls for 1ablespoon of allspice and the pickling vinegar already has spices.

Yes, that is the one.  It was on offer so I bought a few jars!  Would it be any good for the beetroot chutney?

I used that with a bit of cider vinegar ...........tastes alright anyway.

It'll be fine. You can add a few more spices of your own if you want.

I didn't make it tonight in the end, did the picked eggs instead, but will do the beetroot tomorrow evening using the pickled vinegar.
