I have 2 lilac trees. They are still small, one is 4ft and the other one is 6/7 ft tall.
The thing is that they do not bloom at the same time as everyone else's. They bloom later.
Is it normal? Is it because they are still young?
I planted them 2 years ago.

Not all varieties bloom at the same time. While they may look similar to your neighbours lilacs, yours could be different. Also factor in your particular soil, amount of water it gets, possible shading from taller trees or houses, etc, etc. All of that, along with your tree roots settling in and adapting, will determine bloom time. As long as they bloom, I wouldn't worry at all about when. Just keep watering them until they seem to be able to handle it on their own.

I don't think age will make very much of a difference, rather the other factors, Trillium mentioned, there are also summer flowering lilacs.

Are they really trees? Like in Japanese lilac, which get really large.
