Sorry I misunderstood.
Now bearing in mind that these parsnips are 6 to 8" across and go down approx.7"" again before even considering to taper in to several normalish parsnip roots and that I forgot to thin them, which has not restricted growth-I need a parsnip soup reciepe or anything that uses massas of them, except wine as my kitchen makes the happy sound of bubbling demi johns and bottles are stashed everywhere.
By the way Muntjac sticking them in the freezer worked a treat but they`re fine now after a few more frosts.

i like parsnip n onion soup this is how i make mine
a bowl full of parsnips (just washed and diced)
4 average sized onions (chopped)
boil the parsnips and onions until soft pour the lot liquid n all into liquidiser and give it a blast,
pour back into a large saucepan and heat up
add salt n pepper and keep tasting,
add a bit of double cream if you want
serve in a big bowl with loads of bread n butter ,
last week i made cellery and leek same as above and that was very tasty great for bonfire night.
feed the soil not the plants
organicish
you learn gardening by making mistakes

we are having butternut soup again this week. but for a change we have some peppers in it!!. Always very nice though. Unlike Shaun I have no idea how its made. Seems to involve a butternut squash, some stock, carrots, peppers(sometimes) and a stickblender. I am busy giving away the remainder of the squash so we can dine on something else.

and an objective.
