I've also been reading that weeds around the world are now becoming immune to roundup/glyphosate so bad news for all those who swear by it and those plagued by Bindweed  :roll: I think that this is due to GM crops being made to be resistant to Roundup and in turn this seems to be doing the same with weeds?  I'm not a scientist so please don't quote me.

I have to admit to sitting on the fence a little with this as I know how bad bindweed is and how hard it would be to irradicate it from a vegetable plot, at the same time I'm not sure I'd want my veggies absorbing any of it and me in turn eating them.

It's a difficult one.  I believe it to be up to each individual to make their choice and live with the consequences of that choice.

My husband - bless him - emptied the whole wheel barrow load of couch grass the bindweed and edging stuff on to the compost heap - now its rained for 3 days - help!!

Pull it all out, then you could either leave it spread out to dry out to kill it , or dump the whole lot in to  a water butt and drown it all will take a week or so.  :D
