Title: Slug/Snail proof labels
Post by: David. on September 09, 2007, 15:33
If you have bottles or demijohns stored in a garage, shed or anywhere that slugs/snails can get to them and eat the paper labels (which in my case is my understair cupboard as they get in through the airbricks, under the floor and up through cracks between the floorboards), small pieces of the sticky-back plastic sheet used for covering books placed over the labels will eliminate the need to open every bottle/demijohn with a damaged label and carry out a taste test to check what's in it.

At this time of year, when my daughter is covering all her new school books, I gather up the off-cuts and put them with my wine making stuff.
