Another garlic question
« on: September 19, 2010, 23:15 »
I planted Solent Wight last Autumn and they did quite well although the bulbs were smaller than I put in.
I've saved several to plant this year because I know they're disease free and buying new is pretty pricey!! Will the new bulbs be smaller still?
I didn't use potash last year but am planning to next Spring having read the other garlic post! Might this improve the size?

It's no guarantee but you can always try. In addition to some potash or old wood ash, add manure to help feed the new bulbs. I always do and get a respectable size.

We bought bags of 5 bulbs for £1.30 off the local market last year and got a really good crop from them.
