Tough!!!!!          That's enough for me for today, they kept moving, so I lost count of who I'd photographed and who I hadn't!!!!  

And now 28 of them are already reserved!!!!!

Mmmm, I'm not as panicky as I was last September, and we learnt a lot last year.  I learnt that its not good to leave the window open a bit too late, as some of them got crushed trying to scramble over each other to get to the warmer part of the shed, even though the heat lamp was on, and Brian learnt that hanging the heat lamp from a hook screwed part way into the joist is fine, you don't HAVE to bolt it through the roof so that the water gets onto the infra red lamp and explodes, killing 6 chicks in the resulting stampede!!!!

We only lost 2 of the Babcock's early on, must have been weaklings, but all the rest (touch wood) are fine and now weigh between 700 and 800 gms!!!!

The new babies only weighed 39gms when they hatched!!!!  ut I'll still be out there about midnight checking they are okay.

learning curves along the way.. and all experience for you. ((hugs)) I'm gald i'm not the one in line for the late nights though!

They're gorgeous, Grannie - but I think you may have counted no 28 twice, I'm sure he's in both pictures ... :?
