I have a chicken called fatty (even though she is slim) she is a Rhode Island Red / Light Sussex hybrid. She is a BULLY :!: . I also have a chicken called Lunar, she is very muscular with a fat neck and plump breast. She is a glossy dark brown Rhode Island Red with white ears. Four months ago Lunar had a prolapse of the bowel. Fatty pecked the prolapse and made it bleed and Lunar made a loud squeek and was in a lot of pain so I took her to a local vet who treated her and she is now well. I have a little chicken called Martha who is about Fattys size. She is quite noisy. A relatives border collie attacked her and severly wounded her neck. I took her to the same vet who gave her a an anaesthetic and stitched her and sprayed turqoise antiseptic spray on her neck. She spent that night with my grandson in front of the TV and enjoyed watching Top Gear and QI. When she came home Fatty started bulling her and the others joined in. Fatty was by far the ringleader. 6 weeks later she is recovered but Fatty has a go at her now and again.

I have a young cockerel called Fatty. He looks or rather sounds like he is destined for the unsavoury honour of being my first kill.
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

Hi Pauline

It sounds as if Fatty is at the top of the pecking order and poor Martha is at the bottom.

Any chance you could put fatty in a seperate area for a few weeks? The other two will bond and when fatty goes back she'll be at the bottom of the order (hopefully). :)
