Hello all
Just to say I know I've been clogging up the news feed lately but this is my very first hatch so learning quickly! I must say I am greatful of all the great people and advice on this site!
My next query is bedding @ present I'm using kitchen roll which is ok, however th chicks are pooping machines so it's getting covered within an hour easy plus it doesn't smell great, with all the poop all time, is there any better solutions?
Thanks

dust extracted wood shavings .

I second that. Once they are done with kitchen towel, (or I used the cheap non slip matting from Poundland and just kept washing it out), they then went on to wood shavings.

I've never reared baby chicks but was wondering if dried kiln sand would work
help absorb the poops

I would have though they would eat the sand. I use Puppy training pads - I have them under ducklings at the moment and are very efficient at absorbing moisture, plus there's nothing they can eat.
