Last night, as I was feeding my daughters their tea, Jemima screamed 'Samson is eating my silkie....'
Samson is an 8 1/2 stone german shepherd, who lives in a pen - as sweet as he is we have 2 kids and won't take chances.
Jemimas silkie had decided to help herself to the dogfood, and all I could see was Samson with this white fluff in his mouth.
Of course I dashed out screaming at him, only to find him holding the bird in his mouth. Not having time to open the pen I grabbed him through the rails, he dropped the silkie - which ran off unhurt
I was astounded that a big mutt would be so soft mouthed .
Let go of him praisd him like mad and fed him some more dogfood. Went inside to try and console a screaming child.
As I manage to convince Jemima that he hadn't eaten her silkie the bloomin bird was back in the pen lemming
Run back out , grab dog, remove stupid chicken.
Twice it has survived the dogs mouth..........
Why does the dog only go for that one chicken - all the others brave his pen without bother?
