I was just wondering I planted a passion flower last spring, it grew like  mad and flowered. but now looks very dead and has lost all of its leaves. I have grown one before and it lasted for years. I was just thinking has this one had it due to the heavy frost?

Should I cut it down and start again or will it recover?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

If it's one of the blue ones and in a sheltered spot you should be ok. It is still very early for exotic things to be growing, but the winter has been mild and not too wet so it may be just patience. Cut it down if you see no sign of green on last year's stalks when you scrape them with a nail.

Many thanks for your reply. It was in a sheltered spot on a fence,  but facing west, it is a blue type, I was just thinking that in that cold spell the cold wind or frost might have killed it .
How long do you think I should leave it ?

Hi, I would leave as long as poss,I thought I had lost one last year so I cut It off and left the root,6 months later It started shooting from the bottom I was amazed.So hang on a bit.
