Are they Bantams
« on: August 12, 2014, 15:51 »
About 3 weeks ago my son in law got 2 black hens given which we put in with 3 ginger hybrids and a light sussex cock.Within days they were laying small very light brown eggs anywhere they could but now they are using the communal  nestbox. At first i thought they were pullets but after doing some research I think they are Black Austrolorps and probably bantams ,they are nowhere near the size of buff orpingtons.Does anyone have any of these, sorry i cant do photos this is my work desktop i would get wrong.I will say they lay virtually every day only small egg but nearly all yoke....lovely!
