Could be various things... How long have they been in the pots, what size pots and how big are the plants..

Yes it does need a bit of feed.
and by the way, it should have gone out in the ground now  :)

We're only June 2nd, and up north the standard advice is not to think about putting things out until the start of June.  We have some single-temperature nights predicted for the next week in parts of the north!  :)
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Pleased about that, Yorkie.   Mine are still in pots, but I give them a feed every week.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Yep, that's balmy! mine will probably go out this week, though they are all at various heights as I had 3 sowings due to germination failures (and still not sure I have enough for the area they are going in)

Sweetcorn don't like to be checked so if necessary keep them out of harsh winds and feed them until the weather is kind enough to plant them in their final growing position.

I got mine out a couple of weeks ago in the nice weather.  The stems have thickened up nicely.  I'm not so worried about an 8 or 9 degrees temp, but was worried about wind damage like last year.  North Essex so a bit in the middle

Having expected a dry, very mild night I left my sweetcorn, runner beans and various cucurbits outside last night for the first time - it was mild but there was also 6mm of rain  ::) and the sweetcorn and runners are in paper pots in containers with no drainage holes so very soggy, and will be difficult to drain off without damaging them.

I'd already 'planned' on planting them all out today before the unexpected soaking, the main consideration being the forecast for at least this week.

metoffice.gov.uk forecasts nothing worse than 8C for this week, and mostly much higher, whereas timeanddate.com forecasts lows of 4C and 2C on Thurs and Fri this week!

Think I need to shop around for some more forecasts!  ::)
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

Don't worry about having to stick them in yet. I didn't put mine out till mid-June last year, and I'm in the south too. Had a fab crop, so I'm sticking with not worrying about them still being in tubes.

I've fed my slightly yellowing corn with a liquid feed and they have perked up a lot.

Did some of them escape for a life in the path?

Yep - I grew more than I needed on the basis last years germination rates and I ended up with three extras and I could not bear putting them in the compost heap  :nowink: so they have gone in the margin along the footpath  :D
