It would be a good idea and fix the base to the ground.

Else come a wind day and...

Hi TINTIN.

If you are using treated wood as the base and the greenhouse is made of aluminium put a layer of silicone between the wood and the greenhouse as the stuff that is use in the treatment of the wood can corode the aluminum.

All the best.

Subaru.
Please leave things how you would like to find them.

We have had to fix our aluminium greenhouse to a base (made of concrete fence posts) because even with the weight of the glass the very strong winds we get have managed to move it more than once.

Depends what you can get a hold of, if you can get flagstones they would do if you bolted them down, you could also use some tanalised bits of timber, i am laying mine onto a concrete base that has builders block on top

decking.........or just put the steel frame down, use quick set post concrete to fix the corners posts and have it on natural ground. Mine is, its not a problem.

Hi,

I have a RION light acrylic greenhouse screwed into flags (Large thick screws) all the way around, it is a  6x6 and each section is screwed into a flag.

I don't think it will move much, I have given it a good push just to see if it flexes and nothing.

Hope it helps
Dave
