Last year they ate two rows of peas before they were a foot tall, this year I netted them  an now they are at the top of the net despite a string of CD's 6" form the top along the whole row they are sitting on top of them eating the leaves.

They have also eaten two rows of Lettuce and row of Pak Choi, any Brasica's they can get their beaks to and now they have started on the Peppers. Last year they went for runner beans which so far this year they have avoided.
Getting to the stage where I am going to have to net entire beds.

Anyone else having the same issues or is it  personal.

Friend of mine gave me an insight recently.  He said they are actually after the moisture as it has been so dry.  Then said that others on the plot had put out water bowls for the pigeons so that they left the unusual crops alone.  I've never had a pumpkin attacked by pigeons though..........yet

pigeons Don't eat lead shot there's a number of lads keeping pigeons at bay of the crops round here  the pigeons where going on the menu at  some restaurants they  could get enough before the lock down happened
it should resume when the restaurants re open

we also have some large birds flying round the allotments that seem to have cleared out most of the pigeons but we not taking any chances still netting the brassicas
