Title: Keeping a Sow
Post by: Tiggs on January 05, 2012, 20:54
Hi, would anyone be able to help?

I'd like to know how much it approximately costs to keep a sow for a year as i'm in the process of trying to sort out some pigs for my yfc club.

Thanks!!

This guide should help:

Feeding costs will vary between breeds.

I read an article saying a pig farmer spent £150 on buying and raising a pig. In the end the pig would be worth £500 at market. This was for meat though so im unsure if a sow would take the same requirements.
